Unlock deep emotional blocks, gain profound self-insight, and create lasting psychological healing and change.
Focusing was developed by philosopher and psychologist Eugene Gendlin when he became interested in why psychotherapy seemed to help some people more than others.
Through their research, Gendlin and his colleagues discovered something important: People who made the most progress in therapy seemed to have a particular way of relating to their inner experience. They were able to pause and attend to something vague and somatic (in the body) that they didn’t yet understand, and then allow words to emerge from that experience.
Instead of just talking about problems, focusing-oriented therapy teaches you to listen and tune in to your physical feelings and internal world which can dissolve emotional blocks to discover a deeper, clearer path forward.
By connecting deeply with these bodily cues, clients may experience emotional breakthroughs, resolve inner conflicts and walk away with a clearer sense of direction.
